Jeremy Piven Abruptly Abandons Broadway Play  —  It's a backstage drama worthy of Entourage: Leading man Jeremy Piven has suddenly split from the critical and commercial hit Broadway revival of David Mamet's Speed-the-Plow, citing doctors' diagnosis that he's suffering a high mercury count, Variety reported Thursday.

Jeremy Piven Leaves ‘Speed-the-Plow’  —  UPDATE: A publicist for Jeremy Piven has confirmed that the actor has left “Speed-the-Plow.”  In an email message, she writes: “Jeremy has not been feeling well and though he'd like to continue his role in ‘Speed-the-Plow,’ his doctors have advised him that he should end his run immediately.”

Scott Ruffalo's death ruled homicide  —  The Los Angeles County Coroner's Office on Wednesday ruled the death of Mark Ruffalo's younger brother a homicide.  —  Coroner's spokesman Craig Harvey says an autopsy determined that someone shot 39-year-old Scott M. Ruffalo in the head.
